Community event advice is a small group of event industry colleagues, who all work on lots of community based events across the city of Sheffield.

Together we want to help other small groups to put on local community events, fun days, summer fairs and garden parties, that benefit the local community.

We want to offer those groups advice and guidance into making those events safe, fun and enjoyable.

Our experiences have given us lots of knowledge of what is needed and we would like to pass that information on to those groups

We will also be trying to build up a sharing list of good suppliers, and contacts for event materials and equipment

We also aim to build up a small bank of FREE safety equipment that groups will be able to hire or have use of to support their events.

We are looking at things like;- Hi visibility vests for stewards and event teams, Steel Pins and roll up fencing, crowd control megaphones and maybe some small battery powered PA systems to make announcements with.

We are also producing a helpful guide booklet to promote good event planning and highlighting some of the things that event planing needs.

Our plans are in the early stages and we are trying to get some local funding to support them, subject to that happening we hope to be able to help groups from April 2012 in the north area of Sheffield.
